We have been engaged with this organization for 5 months, and they truly care about their residents. The communication has been consistently stellar, and I am now completely confident that we will always get a phone call if anything concerns arise. Jewish Home Of Rochester provides independent living services and amenities to its residents. All apartments feature one- or two-bedroom floor plans with fully equipped kitchens, washer/dryer, carpeting, window treatments, heating/air conditioning, emergency call system and storage areas. Some units include patios or balconies for added convenience.
The nursing home is also in the bottom 30% of facilities in terms of residents that have one or more falls with a major injury, slightly higher than the state average. I visited the Summit with my parents a few years ago, when my grandmother was considering moving to the area and was weighing the pros and cons of assisted living facilities. On the whole, the Summit seemed to me to be an excellent community, with a great number of features that made it stand out from the rest. We visited The Summit at Brighton, and I found the staff very pleasant, accommodating, and knowledgeable. They have variety of apartments to offer the residents.

I can't believe any of the good reviews when I know first hand that my stay there was by far completely lacking and detrimental to my recovery. The Jewish Home Of Rochester is a nursing home that has a 4-star quality rating, the second highest possible. The nursing home is in the bottom 30% of facilities in terms of residents who have depressive symptoms, which is lower than the state average. The nursing home is also in the top 30% of facilities in terms of residents with ulcers, slightly lower than the state average.
5 stars compared to the NY average of 3.78 and a National average of 3.12. 5 stars compared to the NY average of 4.14 and a National average of 3.33. 3 stars compared to the NY average of 2.59 and a National average of 3.15.
Emergency and Hospitalization Quality Measures
Total Licensed Nursing Hours (Registered Nurses + Licensed Practical Nurses + Licensed Vocational Nurses) averages 1.92 hours per day per resident (the national average is 1.4 hours). Additional special care rehab beds are available. The last time this data was collected they cared for at least 66 men and 150 women in a one year period that received Medicare benefits. I tried calling a friend of mine at Wolk Manor to tell him that a friend of his had suffered a stroke and they refused to connect me to his room.

There are 8 hospitals within 25 miles of Jewish Home Of Rochester. The two closest hospitals are Monroe Community Hospital which is 2.0 miles away and Highland Hospital which is 2.4 miles away. Concerns about delays in learning to talk, walk, or crawl or other developmental milestones for a baby or child.
Dining rooms way too crowded and I can't believe that for safety purposes this is allowed. Way too many wheelchairs and walkers and no place to move around without tripping. All of that being said, some of the staff was very helpful, but I would look further before placing a relative or loved one there. Service/Program Provided
It is worth mentioning that Medicare pays for what they deem as 'medically necessary' skilled nursing care. The facility is nice, but it’s really about the care. I have seen true affection and kindness many, many times. No one wants to be in a nursing home, but if it has to be so, the Jewish Home of Rochester is probably the best one could possibly do.

We''ve had an incredible experience with the Jewish Home. With that said I will say this was the worst experience for me and my husband. Perhaps some of the money should go towards a bed that works. Then my advice would be to hire staff so I don’t have to go up everyday to change him. Please, if you are considering donating to the Jewish Home, find out where your money is going. Jewish Senior Life is guided by the values of honoring family and emphasizing senior care and aging in place.
Not only does the nursing home have a great staff vaccination rate, but it also has a covid booster rate that is higher than the state average. The Lodge at Wolk Manor is a unique assisted living memory care facility designed specifically for those with early- to mid-stage Alzheimer’s or other dementias. The circular design allows residents the freedom to walk within the building, while the enclosed courtyard provides a safe and enjoyable outdoor space. The Lodge's small, homey layout creates relaxed, familiar surroundings for our residents.
We encourage you to leave one of your own if you are familiar with their services. We also recommend giving them a call to address any additional senior and nursing care questions you may have after reviewing their Nursing Home Site profile. There was a mistake in to what services I needed, so result was disappointing. My daughter panicked when I fell down and injured my arms/skin. So I was admitted to the intense care level floor.
